Today, Memorial Day, there is a fantastic piece on Leon Jedziniak and the Battle of Bulge by Katharine Blossom Lowrie.  If the Battle of Bulge is something you have heard about but don’t really know anything about, this is a quick and informative read.  Anytime I read anything about what these guys went through, it is impossible for me to express my gratitude for all the soldiers who would never call themselves heroes but have given so much for our freedom in such a heroic event.  In Bastogne, for all those dug into fox holes during the shelling, the seconds must have ticked away like weeks.

Thanks to our military, past and present.  Thanks to the heroes.
