2012 Catalina Classic Results

On Sunday, August 26th, 2012, the 37th Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race took place in almost perfect conditions with nearly all classes records coming in jeopardy.   Adam Buckley won the overall with a near record time of 5:11:44.  Steve Shlens won the stock class with a time of 5:56:03, nearly topping that class’ record.  Kelsey O’Donnell finished first in the female class with a record time of 6:18:23.

The Catalina Classic is consider one of the premier and most historical paddleboard race in the world.  The first, unofficial race was won in 1932 by Tom Blake.  The Classic officially started in 1955 by Los Angeles County Lifeguard Bob Hogan.
